I almost always give a J.D. Robb book 5 stars, unless I really dislike the case. This book is especially deserving of the 5 stars.All the characters you've come to love are here. And they're here in duplicate! Because a movie is being made about the past Icove case and book written. it's less confusing than it sounds.I got to fall in love with some of these characters all over again because we get to "meet" them as their younger selves in the actors that play them. It's a whole lot of fun.The mystery is also top notch and interesting. While I didn't figure it out right away, it wasn't so convoluted that it was impossible to figure out. It also wasn't one of those mysteries where the answer seemed pulled from the ether either.Overall, this is one of my favorite Eve Dallas stories and that's saying something considering how much I like this series. Who killed the bitchy actress at the dinner party that Eve, Roarke, Peabody, McNab and many friends are attending along with the cast of the vid based on Nadine's book of the Icove Agenda, one of Eve and Peabody's cases. Oh and the dead actress was playing Peabody in the vid. Everyone appears to have hated her, so who killed her? Was it the two cast members who she was blackmailing? Was it the director who she was driving crazy with her outrageous demands? Or maybe the gorgeous actor playing Roarke? Since Eve and Peabody are right there it becomes their case and the fun (?) begins. Will Eve be able to solve this one? Read this great book to find the answers to these questions. Highly recommended.
